NDT Examinations

ULTRASONIC EXAMINATIONS

We provide examinations for Ultrasonic Testing, including PCN personal certification examinations to Levels 1, 2 in association with NDT International Chennai plus examination for employers based schemes such as SNT-TC-1Ato Levels 1, 2.

LEVEL 1

To be eligible for the PCN Level 1 examination, an eye test must be passed (near vision and color).
The UT Level 1 examination includes a general theory paper, specific paper, and a practical exam.
The PCN requirements for Level 1 UT are: 40 hours training, previous to the exam, and 3 months supervised work experience, to be obtained either before the examination, or within 24 months after passing the exam.
Once the 40 hours training have been obtained, the examination passed, and 3 months supervised work experience obtained within 24 months of passing the exam, PCN will issue certification.

LEVEL 2

To be eligible for the PCN Level 2 examination, an eye test must be passed (near vision and color).
The UT Level 2 examination includes a general theory paper, specific paper, and a practical exam.
The PCN requirements for Level 2 UT are: 80 hours training if Level 1 is held, or 120 hours direct to level 2, previous to the exam, and 9 months supervised work experience additional to Level 1 (12 months direct), to be obtained either before the examination, or within 24 months after passing the exam.
Once the 80 additional hours training have been obtained, the examination passed, and 9 additional months supervised work experience obtained within 24 months of passing the exam, PCN will issue certification.

RADIOGRAPHY EXAMINATIONS (RT)

We provide examinations for Radiographic Testing, including PCN personal certification examinations to Levels 1, 2 plus examinations for employer based schemes such as SNT-TC-1Ato Levels 1, 2.

LEVEL 1

To be eligible for the PCN Level 1 examination, an eye test must be passed (near vision and color).
The RT Level 1 examination includes a general theory paper, specific paper, and a practical exam.
The PCN requirements for Level 1 RT are: 40 hours training, previous to the exam, and 3 months supervised work experience, to be obtained either before the examination, or within 24 months after passing the exam.
Once the 40 hours training have been obtained, the examination passed, and 3 months supervised work experience obtained within 24 months of passing the exam, PCN will issue certification.
Basic Radiation Safety (BRS) must also be held before these exams can be taken.

LEVEL 2

To be eligible for the PCN Level 2 examination, an eye test must be passed (near vision and color).
The RT Level 2 examination includes a theory paper, specific paper, and a practical exam.
The PCN requirements for Level 2 RT are: 80 hours training if Level 1 is held, or 120 hours direct to level 2, previous to the exam, and 9 months supervised work experience additional to Level 1 (12 months direct), to be obtained either before the examination, or within 24 months after passing the exam.
Once the 80 additional hours training have been obtained, the examination passed, and 9 additional months supervised work experience obtained within 12 months of passing the exam, PCN will issue certification. BRS must also be held before these exams can be taken

RADIOGRAPHIC INTERPRETATION EXAMINATIONS (RI)

We provide examinations for Radiographic Interpretation, including PCN personal certification examinations to Level 2, plus examinations for employer based schemes such as SNT-TC-1 to Level 2.

LEVEL 2

To be eligible for the PCN Level 2 examination, an eye test must be passed (near vision and color).
The RI Level 2 examination includes a general theory paper, specific paper, and a practical exam.
The PCN requirements for Level 2 RI are: 40 hours training; and 6 months supervised work experience, to be obtained either before the examination, or within 24 months after passing the exam.
Once the 40 hours training have been obtained, the examination passed, and 6 months supervised work experience obtained within 24 months of passing the exam, PCN will issue certification.

MAGNETIC PARTICLE EXAMINATIONS

We provide examinations for Magnetic Particle Testing, including PCN personal certification examinations to Levels 1, 2 plus examination for employer based schemes such as SNT-TC-1A to Levels 1, 2.

LEVEL 1

To be eligible for the PCN Level 1 examination, an eye test must be passed (near vision and color).
The MT Level 1 examination includes a general theory paper, specific paper, and a practical exam.
The PCN requirements for Level 1 MT are: 16 hours training, previous to the exam, and 1 month supervised work experience, to be obtained either before the examination, or within 24 months after passing the exam.
Once the 16 hours training have been obtained, the examination passed, and 1 month supervised work experience obtained within 24 months of passing the exam, PCN will issue certification.

LEVEL 2

To be eligible for the PCN Level 2 examination, an eye test must be passed (near vision and color).
The MT Level 2 examination includes a theory paper, specific paper, and a practical exam.
The PCN requirements for Level 2 MT are: 24 hours training if Level 1 is held, or 40 hours direct to level 2, previous to the exam, and 3 months supervised work experience additional to Level 1 (4 months direct), to be obtained either before the examination, or within 24 months after passing the exam.
Once the 24 additional hours training have been obtained, the examination passed, and 3 additional months supervised work experience obtained within 24 months of passing the exam, PCN will issue certification.

LIQUID PENETRANT EXAMINATIONS

We provide examinations for Liquid Penetrant Testing, including PCN personal certification examinations to Levels 1, 2 plus examinations for employer based schemes such as SNT-TC-1A to Levels 1, 2.

LEVEL 1

To be eligible for the PCN Level 1 examination, an eye test must be passed (near vision and color).
The PT Level 1 examination includes a general theory paper, specific paper, and a practical exam.
The PCN requirements for Level 1 PT are: 16 hours training, previous to the exam, and 1 month supervised work experience, to be obtained either before the examination, or within 24 months after passing the exam.
Once the 16 hours training have been obtained, the examination passed, and 1 month supervised work experience obtained within 24 months of passing the exam, PCN will issue certification.

LEVEL 2

To be eligible for the PCN Level 2 examination, an eye test must be passed (near vision and color).
The PT Level 2 examination includes a theory paper, specific paper, and a practical exam.
The PCN requirements for Level 2 PT are: 24 hours training if Level 1 is held, or 40 hours direct to level 2, previous to the exam, and 3 months supervised work experience additional to Level 1 (4 months direct), to be obtained either before the examination, or within 24 months after passing the exam.
Once the 24 additional hours training have been obtained, the examination passed, and 3 months additional supervised work experience obtained within 24 months of passing the exam, PCN will issue certification.

EDDY CURRENT EXAMINATIONS

We provide examinations for Eddy Current Testing, including PCN personal certification examinations to Levels 1, 2 plus examinations for employer based schemes such as SNT-TC-1Ato Levels 1, 2.

LEVEL 1

To be eligible for the PCN Level 1 examination, an eye test must be passed (near vision and color).
The ET Level 1 examination includes a general theory paper, specific paper, and a practical exam.
The PCN requirements for Level 1 ET are: 40 hours training, previous to the exam, and 3 months supervised work experience, to be obtained either before the examination, or within 24 months after passing the exam.
Once the 40 hours training have been obtained, the examination passed, and 3 months supervised work experience obtained within 24 months of passing the exam, PCN will issue certification.

LEVEL 2

To be eligible for the PCN Level 2 examination, an eye test must be passed (near vision and color).
The ET Level 2 examination includes a general theory paper, specific paper, and a practical exam.
The PCN requirements for Level 2 ET are: 40 hours training if Level 1 is held, or 80 hours direct to level 2, previous to the exam, and 9 months supervised work experience additional to Level 1 (12 months direct), to be obtained either before the examination, or within 24 months after passing the exam.
Once the 40 additional hours training have been obtained, the examination passed, and 9 additional months supervised work experience obtained within 24 months of passing the exam, PCN will issue certification.

PHASED ARRAY EXAMINATIONS

We provide examinations for Phased Array Testing, including PCN personal certification examinations to Levels 2 plus examination for employers based schemes such as SNT-TC-1Ato Levels 2. Phased Array is an advanced level of Ultrasonic Testing; candidates must hold a current valid PCN Level 2 and 3 Certification in Ultrasonic Testing to be eligible for PCN Level 2 and 3 Phased Array examinations.

LEVEL 2

To be eligible for the PCN Level 2 examination, an eye test must be passed (near vision and colour), and the appropriate UT level 2 exam held.
The PA Level 2 examination includes a specific paper, and a practical exam.
The PCN requirements for Level 2 PA are: 100 hours training and 3 months supervised work experience in using PA to be obtained either before the examination, or within 24 months after passing the exam.
Once the 100 hours training have been obtained, the examination passed, and 3 additional months supervised work experience obtained within 24 months of passing the exam, PCN will issue certification.

ULTRASONIC TIME OF FLIGHT DIFFRACTION EXAMINATIONS (TOFD)

We provide examinations for Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) testing, including PCN personal certification examinations to Levels 1, 2 plus examination for employers based schemes such as SNT-TC-1Ato Levels 1, 2.

LEVEL 1

To be eligible for the PCN Level 1 examination, an eye test must be passed (near vision and color) and candidates must hold Level 1 PCN Certification in Ultrasonic Weld Testing. The TOFD Level 1 examination includes a specific paper and a practical exam.

The PCN requirements for Level 1 TOFD are: 40 hours training, previous to the exam, and 3 months supervised work experience, to be obtained either before the examination, or within 24 months after passing the exam.

Once the 40 hours training have been obtained, the examination passed, and 3 months supervised work experience obtained within 24 months of passing the exam, PCN will issue certification.

LEVEL 2

To be eligible for the PCN Level 2 examination, an eye test must be passed (near vision and color) and candidates must hold Level 2 PCN Certification in Ultrasonic Weld Testing The TOFD Level 2 examination includes a specific paper and practical exam.

The PCN requirements for Level 2 TOFD are: 40 hours training if level 1 is held, or 80 hours direct to Level 2, previous to the exam, and 9 months supervised work experience additional to Level 1 (12 months direct), to be obtained either before the examination, or within 24 months after passing the exam.
